Welcome back from vacation!  I hope everyone  had a restful and fun vacation!  It was nice to have some time with my family and enjoy a little quieter schedule.  Coming back I could see that the kids all had grown.  New haircuts and tans make them look more grown up.

In math we have been working on geometry and 2-dimensional shapes.  Everyone really enjoys this unit.   They love manipulating the geo blocks to fill shapes and play games filling shapes.  Children learned how to use attributes to describe these shapes.  The focus they use doing these activities is exciting to watch.

We certainly have green thumbs in room 28!  All of our plants grew so much!  It was fun watching and observing these grow.  I hope they are enjoying these at home now. We now have our aquarium set up and are enjoying our new pet snails and guppies.  We will be setting up the woodland habitat soon.

Before vacation we finished up the first bend in our persuasive writing.  We chose our best in show from our collection and we wrote our opinion to try to persuade or convince our readers.  We gave reasons why this is the best one in the group.  We even quoted our friends who agreed with our choices!  We had a readers celebration and got to read our friends writing.

Before vacation we filled our pom pom jar and earned a class reward.  Here are some photos of us on our pajama and stuffed animal day.  It was fun reading to our stuffed animals!

Here is the beautiful bulletin board our kiddos created!
