Stony Brook, Habitats and Kibo!

Stony Brook Field trip

We have had some exciting activities here in room 28.  last week we took our field trip to Stony Brook Wildlife Sanctuary and enjoyed a beautiful morning there.  We explored three habitats; the woodlands, pond and meadow.  We looked for different animals in each habitat and what then need in their habitats to survive.  We saw a lot of turtles, geese, a great blue heron and even a family of baby ducks!

Math

In math we are learning more about telling time.  We have been playing games to practice telling time on the hour and the half hour.  We learned the different between a digital clock and an analog clock.

 Science

We have set up our woodland habitat and our aquarium and observed the animals that live in each of these habitats.  We are enjoying having these classroom pets.

Kibo

We got to take a special trip to the library where we learned about the new robots at Memorial school.  Mrs Groden taught us how to program the robots and we got to make our robots do lots of fun things.  We even had them race each other!
