Partner Reading, Fact Families and Published Authors!

In reading we are focusing on retelling the important parts the stories we are reading.  Reading and talking about the important parts of our stories with our partners is a great way to practice this.

 In math we are working with numbers in the teens and playing a game called how many am I hiding.   Playing this game is helpful to then be able to write and figure out equations with missing addends.

We also learned about fact families.  All fact families have something in common...they have the same numbers.  We made fact families and put them in their house.

 In writing we are finishing up our small moments unit.  We chose a book that we wanted to publish and have in our classroom library.  We fancy and fixed up the story, shared it with the class and it is now part of our classroom library!
