Room 28 Update

Wow!  We completed our first full week of school.  It certainly was busy!  The class is doing a great job learning the routines and getting to know each other.  We have been working on building a classroom community of learners.

We learned about our first center; "read to self".  The kids have done a great job selecting books for their book boxes and building their reading stamina.  We use the workshop model for math and writing.  In math we practiced how to count efficiently.  We played some games to help us practice.

We also began writers workshop where we are writing small moments.  We are learning to write like real authors.
