October Highlights

We have had a busy month in room 28!  We have been learning more strategies for addition and subtraction in math, becoming even better writers working on our small moment stories, learning about sound and light in science and reading up a ton!  Here are some highlights from the month.

In math we worked in partners and came up with all the different combinations of equations that equal a number.  We used bears in and out of a cave to show all the possible combinations.

In science we investigated what causes sound.  We used a cup with an elastic and popsicle stick create sound.    We also used a tuning fork and wood block to create sound and learned how to change the sound by hitting the wood block harder and softer.  Ask your child what makes sound.

We used a book elastic and cup to make a book fiddle and created sound using these objects.

We wrapped up the month with our Halloween parade and a great party organized by our room moms!  Thank you to everyone that made this party so wonderful!

I am looking forward to seeing everyone at the upcoming conferences.  Please make sure you sign up for a meeting time!
