November Happenings

Its hard to believe that we are in December and starting the holiday season!  This year seems to be flying by!

This past month we had a visit from former Navy officer Chief Wilson and her son Cadet Wilson.  We learned about the branches of the military and the importance of Veteran's day.  We learned how to stand like soldiers and did a pretty good job!

Our math time has been busy as we have been working to see if equations are true or false and also how to make an equation true.  We sorted math fact cards into categories of true and false.  We are also working on adding equations with three digits.  Doing these problems we use our strategies for addition that we learned earlier in the year such as make ten and doubles facts in order to make our addition work easier.

We continue to learn about sound during our science time.  We explored how to make sound louder and softer by using a xylophone and a single string cup guitar.

We also had a special visitor from a friend of mine this month.  Michaela did little yoga with us!
